respects in Bangkok
Sunday 23rd October 2016
The 9th annual Thailand International Cricket Sixes
begins in Bangkok on Friday 28th October, with a minimum of twelve competing
teams arriving once again from far and wide to continue making “Friendships
Through Cricket”.
The event organised by the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour
(ACST) will see participants from England, Australia, India, China, Singapore,
the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UAE and Sri Lanka will be joining local
representation for the three-day event, which is being held at the Thana City
Sports Club near Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The partaking teams will be seeded at the completion
of the first round of games, to compete for honours in the Cup, Bowl and Shield
on Sunday afternoon.
ACST Chairman, Michael Maher is pleased with the mix
of teams, while understanding the current atmosphere throughout the country
following the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
“A great many of the people heading to the tournament,
have good friends in what is and will continue to be a wonderful place for us
to visit. Everyone connected with the ACST is truly saddened by the loss of
such a revered and wonderful person, and offer our sincere condolences to the
Thai nation”.
“We will do everything to ensure that the event is
held in total respect, with all visitors having been advised of the appropriate
protocol. I would like to thank the Windsor Suites Hotel, Thana City Sports
Club and our contacts in Bangkok for their support and advice at such a sad
time” added Mr Maher.
Spectators are welcome at the event and admission is
free. For further details, please contact Mr Maher at mmaher.padmir@bigpond.com or on (+61) 407

The ACST would like to pass on our greatest respect and sadness to the people of Thailand in the passing of their loving King. Please kindly be assured of calm towards the 9th Annual Thailand International Cricket Sixes Tournament 2016 and we advise that our Official Tournament Hotel have confirmed their support in still holding this fantastic friendship tournament and look forward to welcoming all participants. The Thana City Sports Club still wish for the event to take place. The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) have issued guidelines that they would like all visitors to Thailand to carry on with their travel plans.
Complete respect will be shown in honouring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej throughout the whole tournament
